I love a good eyeshadow look. There's just something about eyeshadow that can completely change your whole face, depending on the combinations of colours you use. You can blend, you can add glitter, you can look edgy... eyeshadow is just one of the best and most versatile makeup products. If you looked in my Alex drawers in my dressing room/office, you'll see that I have an obscene collection of eyeshadow palettes - particularly ones from Urban Decay.
With my everyday makeup, I tend to stick to pinks and other warm colours for my eyeshadow. But when I saw the new Urban Decay Naked Ultraviolet palette, I just had to get it and try it out.
I think there's something for everyone in this one - there's the warm red/orange shades Mind Slip, Dazed, Hacked and VR. The cool Lucid and Optimized. The vibrant Warning, Cyber Punk, Euphoric and Purple Dust. The brown Digital that could be used for any look to darken it up slightly or to create the effect of a soft eyeliner.
I also think this would be a great palette to take away when travelling, whether for staycations or holidays abroad, as you can easily create totally different looks from just this one palette. You could even use it to create a day to night look, by building up the pigments and adding depth to the outer corners.
There's also a good mix of matte and shimmery shades (although I'm definitely a magpie and love all things sparkly!) The colour Trippin' would be great in the inner corners to highlight and brighten your eyes.
I can't wait to create some looks with this palette, especially as we get into the colder, darker months when we need a bit of extra brightness and sparkle! I'm particularly excited to use the warmer, pumpkin-coloured shades as we get into October and the deep glittery purples for Christmas/New Years Eve parties.
I *might* be brave and venture into sharing my makeup looks over on my Instagram, so definitely follow me over there if you aren't already!
What's your favourite eyeshadow palette? Which of these colours is your favourite?
